James Alexander Johnstone

August 27, 1950 — July 13, 2024

Mt. Holly Springs

James Alexander Johnstone, 73, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in his home. He was born August 27, 1950, in Mantua, New Jersey to the late James and Dorothy (Ruch) Johnstone. James was the widower of Donna (Littleton) Johnstone.

James was a graduate of Pittman High School in New Jersey. He was a computer programmer for the Naval Depot, retiring after 35 years. James attended The Meeting House Church in Carlisle and later the Tree of Life Church in Carlisle.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family, especially his cherished grandchildren and children, who were the light of his life.

A lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, James was passionate about sharing his hope in Jesus with others. His faith was a guiding force, and he found joy and purpose in spreading the message of Christ’s love and salvation.

An avid sports fan, James had an unwavering passion for the Philadelphia Eagles. His knowledge of team statistics spanned decades, and he could recall details from games with unremarkable precision. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, making game days special occasions for family and friends.

As we bid farewell, we take comfort in knowing that James is now in Heaven, in the arms of Jesus and reunited with his wife, Donna. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will forever soar with the Eagles.

Surviving are his children, Sean Johnstone of Las Vegas, NV, Kelly Couch of Mt. Holly Springs, PA and Nathan (Danielle) Johnstone of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Hayden, Travis, AJ, Jaxon, Cayden, and Maverick.
