James Campbell duMont, 74, of North Middleton Twp., Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2014 at his home after a long, courageous fight against cancer. He was born in Greenfield, MA on January 9, 1940 to the late William and Nancy Stambaugh duMont, and was raised in Falmouth, MA until joining the Marines in 1958. Jim worked in the trucking business, driving for several different companies before retiring from his most rewarding job with Kenworth of Pennsylvania. He loved bass fishing and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Nascar.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Hartzell duMont; his son, David duMont; grandchild, Nicole Rovito, all from Enola; his daughter, Ann (Daniel) Mahurin; and grandchildren, Dillon and Joshua, all of Richmond, Virginia. Also, surviving are Nancy’s three sons; Jason Piper, Heath Piper, Dustin (Dawn) Piper and grandchildren Mason and Livia, all of Carlisle; Jim‘s brother, William duMont of Falmouth, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John duMont and his daughter-in-law, Donna duMont.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs with Chaplin Roger Smith officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
