Isabelle Grenoble

Isabelle M. Grenoble, 87, originally of Gardners, PA, passed away December 4, 2019 in the Thornwald Home, Carlisle. She was born March 18, 1932 in Gardners, PA to the late Oscar T. and Esta Z. (Dittenhafer) Starner  and was the widow of John J. Grenoble.

Isabelle was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, class of 1950, and the Harrisburg School of Cosmetology. She owned Isabelle's Beauty Lounge in the Grayco Apartment Building in Harrisburg, PA for 50 years and then was a beautician in the Thornwald Home for 12 years. Isabelle was very active in the Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church as the organist and member of the choir. She was a member of the Carlisle Kiwanis and the Harrisburg Choral Society. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by her sisters, Loline S. Judge of Camp Hill and Dorothy Sheely of Carlisle, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald, Marlin and Gerald Starner, Opal Reider and Lydia Hefflefinger.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4200 Carlisle Rd., Gardners, PA 17324 with Rev. David Clark officiating. A visitation will be held at 9:30 AM until the service. Burial will be in the Goodyear Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church.
