John T. Hollibaugh, 72, of Hampden Twp., Mechanicsburg, PA passed away in his home on Friday, March 28, 2014. He was born August 17, 1941 in Rockhill Furnace, PA to the late Orlando and Edith Love Hollibaugh. John graduated from Orbisonia High School Class of 1959. He retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. John was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church, the Mechanicsburg Club and the Camp Hill VFW 7530.
John is survived by his wife Sarah F. (Sally) Weyant Hollibaugh; two daughters, Stephanie (John) Stamy and Beth (Ed) Tyrrell, both of Mechanicsburg, and his son, Michael (Julie) ofJunction City, Kansas; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Arlene DiCosimo of St. Thomas, PA and Jane Ford and Nancy Snyder, both of Rockhill Furnace, PA. He was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Hollibaugh and Esther Moore, and two brothers Harold and Paul.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Hope United Methodist Church, 6260 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 with Rev. Samuel Velez-Irizarry officiating. Interment will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, or to Grane Hospice, 4 Lemoyne Dr., Suite 201, Lemoyne, PA 17043, or to Cancer Research, C/O Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
