Hilda Richwine

Hilda K. Richwine, 88, of Gardners, PA passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born December 17, 1928 in Gardners, PA to the late Ross M. Sr. and Hannah Davis Richwine.

Hilda retired from the former Condor Murphy Dress Factory as a seamstress.  A member of the Uriah United Methodist Church, she was active in the choir and the ladies chorus, and taught Sunday School in the children's department. She loved children, especially everyone's baby. Famous for her whoopee pies, Hilda was an excellent baker and also enjoyed caring for her chickens and gardens. People would stop along the road to admire her vegetable and flower gardens.

She is survived by four sisters, Zeina Miller, Darlene Baker, Zula Richwine, all of Gardners and Lorraine Brandt of Carlisle, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings, Eugene Richwine, Virginia Rowe, Lillian Ream and Ross Richwine Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday,  February 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM in her church, 925 Goodyear Road, Gardners, PA 17324 with the Rev. Andrew Lee Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Uriah Church Cemetery.  A viewing will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM inthe Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt.
