Herman Spangler

Herman E. Spangler, 87, of Carlisle, PA passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 in his home. He was born October 31, 1928 in Southampton Twp., Cumberland Co., PA  to the late David and Emma Helm Spangler.

A Federal Government retiree, Herman worked in maintenance and supply and served in the Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Cleo May Whisler Spangler and his son, Ronald E. (Susan) Burkholder of Carlisle. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Troy (Tricia) Burkholder of Dillsburg, Rhonda Guyton of Warrensburg, MO,  Brooke (Doug) Schaeffer of Camp Hill, and Sarah Burkholder of Carlisle; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. Herman was predeceased by his son, Dennis Burkholder, who passed away January 11, 2013

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs PA 17065, with Rev Richard Reese officiating.
