Helen Gitt

Helen M. Gitt, 89, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, evening April 10, 2013 in the Thornwald Home of Carlisle, PA.  She was born in Mt. Holly Springs, PA on March 17, 1924 to the late James A. and Bessie Walker Hummelbaugh and was the widow of Raymond S. Gitt, Sr. who passed on October 12, 2006.
Helen worked in the past at the former Pizo and P.R. Hoffman Crystal Plants in Carlisle, PA. She was a life member of the Boiling Springs V.F.W. Post # 8851 Ladies Auxillary.  Helen also was an enthusiastic Bingo player going all over the area to test her skills.  She was an avid gardner of both flowers and vegetables.
She is survived by a son, Raymond S. “Butch” Gitt, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Tualitin, Oregon; her special niece, Carolyn J. Brymesser of Carlisle; a sister, Dorothy Gibney of Mechanicsburg; and a brother, Robert Hummelbaugh of Harrisburg, PA.
She was preceded by four sisters: Betty Fidler, Louise Hummelbaugh, Jean Minnich and Joyce West, and by two brothers: James A. and Jerry Hummelbaugh.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating.  There will be no public viewing or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Furry Friends Network, P.O. Box 519, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.  Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
