Graham Thomas Meaney, 74, of Carlisle passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at home. He was born December 6, 1941 in London, England. His parents were the late Leo and Irene Devereux Meaney. He was the widower of Mary Kate Amato Meaney, who passed away in 2008.
A U.S. Army veteran, Graham served in the military police during the Vietnam War. He was a retired floral decorator and former owner of Horizon Floral Shop in Tenafly, NJ. He was a Special Motorcycle Deputy Sheriff for the Bergen County N.J. Sheriff’s Department. He also belonged to the Bergen County Camera Club in NJ. Graham volunteered at Carlisle Hearts-n-Hands Sertoma Club and his favorite hobby was baking.
He is survived by a daughter, Caroline L. Meaney of Carlisle; a son, Paul (Maryam) Meaney of Fairfax, VA; two grandchildren, Rowan and Elias Meaney. Also surviving is a brother, Joseph Meaney of Cape Vincent, NY and a sister, Irene Meaney of Bath, PA. Graham was predeceased by two brothers, John and Howard Meaney.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, September 17 th from 1-5pm, in the residence of Nina Shover, 24 Woodview Dr., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle Hearts-n-Hands Sertoma Club, 237 Westview, Carlisle, PA 17013 or Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Road, Suite 302, Carlisle, PA 17015.
