Gladys Marie "Sis" Love, 81,  passed away January 3, 2017at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born January 26, 1935 in Germany Valley, Shirleysburg R. D., PA she was the youngest daughter of the late Ralph and Leona (Staubs) Booher and the widow of Charles Love. She resided at Thornwald Home, her health had been failing since a heart attack in June 2016.

Sis was a graduate of Captain Jack High School, Mt. Union PA and member of the Shirleysburg Methodist Church. Prior to her marriage she was employed by J. C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon, PA. Sis married Charles in April, 1955. While Charles served in the U.S. Navy Seabees the family lived in Virginia, Bermuda, Tennessee, South Carolina and Rhode Island, upon his retirement the family settled in the Newville area. After Charles's death Sis moved to Carlisle to be near her sister and family. Sis was known for her ham potpie, raisin filled cookies and peanut butter fudge, which was loved by all.

Surviving are four children, Michael Love, Teresa (Kent Turk), Susan (Joseph Maltezo) and Lucinda Love; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Nancy J. (Larry) Bard and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Love's body has been gifted to the Humanity Gifts Registry.
