Gerald B. Means Sr., 60, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Lebanon VA Hospital. He was born March 7, 1954 in Iowa to the late Lawrence and Phyllis Mode Means.
A self employed plumber, Gerald was also a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW # 7343 and the American Legion # 674. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Agnes C. Smith Means; his son, Gerald B. (Shawna) Means Jr. of Kansas City, and a daughter, Jennifer Means of Storm Lake, Iowa. Also surviving are three step sons, Brian (Cheri) Rhinehart of Carlisle, Charles (Karen) Rhinehart Jr. of Camp Hill, and Dustin (Nicole) Rhinehart of Gardners; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Phillip Means of Ida Grove, IA and Larry (Corinne) Means of Onalaska, WI and two sisters, Sheryl Eaton of Covina, CA and Shirley (Paul) Maschino of Missouri Valley, IA. He was predeceased by his sister Donna.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065, with Rev. Daniel Dennis officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
