George Over, Jr.

George Lester Over Jr., 84, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 in Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA. He was born to the late George Lester and Rozeal Lorraine (Shade) Over on April 16, 1935 in Newville, PA.

George was retired from the United States Air Force where he worked as a technical sergeant. He enjoyed traveling and the camping life. During his travels, he worked in federal and state parks and private campgrounds. He was a member of the Exchange Club, Baltimore, MD.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Dana Carol (Wilson) Over; children, George Lester (Skip) Over III (Cristal) and Jonathon Scott Over (Tracy), both of Carlisle, PA; stepchildren, William Sale (Nancy), of Prince Fredrick, MD and Karen Sale, of Fairfax, VA; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Betsy Steinberger, of Carlisle, PA and Timothy Yeingst, of Aspers, PA. George was predeceased by his youngest son, Christopher Brian Over and 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Eliot Over.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 12:00 noon  in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service.
