Franklin Mentzer

Franklin Delanor Mentzer, 73, of Newville passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home. He was born November 8, 1940 in Cumberland County to the late John Mentzer and his mother Janet Morrison Mentzer of Newville.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Betty J. Clapper Mentzer; Franklin’s children, Rick Mentzer of Perry County and Angela Bitner of Carlisle; Betty’s children, Robert Rhoades of NY, Earl Rhoades of Newville, and Ruth Hurston and Joann Beecher, both of Carlisle.  Also surviving are two brothers, Johnnie and Gary Mentzer; a sister, Debbie Noel, all of Newville; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Clint Mentzer; a sister, Bertha and a brother, Ernie.
