Frances E. Wimer, 95, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle. Frances was born August 29, 1921 in Swoope, VA to the late Warren D. and Mary Anne (McGuire) Miller. She was the widow of Charles R. Wimer.
Frances was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church for 60 years and was a member of the United Methodist Women, many other committees, and was a Sunday school teacher. She was employed by M&Z Carpets, where she was a seamstress and Upholsterer. Frances also attended Seniors Without Partners at the Barnitz United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Club, and loved sewing and mending for others.
Surviving are her children, Robert Wimer of Fargo, ND, Marianna McCauley of Bethalto, IL, Dwight and Glenn Wimer of Carlisle; 9 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Warren Miller of Williamsburg, VA and David Miller of South Boston, VA. She was preceded in death by siblings, Arlene (Tootie) Fyock, Herman Miller, and Marion (Ted) Miller.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 745 W. Governor Rd, Hershey, PA 17033. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
