Eva Kay Wolfe, 73, of Dillsburg, PA, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 in her home surrounded by her husband, Melvin Eugene Wolfe, and her loving family. She was born July 15, 1946 to the late Foster E. and Rena Mae (Reinhart) Hockenberry in Newville, PA.
Eva Kay retired from Highmark where she worked as a claims processor. She enjoyed making sweaters, scarfs and other beautiful clothing on her knitting machine and sewing handmade clothing for her grandchildren. She enjoyed making crafts and knitting blankets over the years. In 2019, she fulfilled her dream of visiting the Grand Canyon. Eva loved her snacks, especially circus peanuts. Her favorite ice cream was homemade grapenut. Eva adored her cute Maltese, Tootsie, who was always by her side.
In addition to her husband, Eva Kay is survived by her children; JR Barrett (Michele) of Carlisle, PA, Kendra Kilgore (Mark) of Spring Grove, PA, Shawn Barrett (Angela) of Camp Hill, PA, Melvin E. Wolfe Jr. (Teena) of Johnson City, NY and Melanie E. Calaman and companion Ed Eames of Newville, PA. Eva has 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the youngest of 15 Hockenberry children; surviving are Carolyn Hoover of Carlisle, PA and Cleo Hosler of Newville, PA. She was predeceased by siblings, Norma Hostetter, Marie Diehl, Annabelle Allard, Linda Gensler, Ruth Keck, Florence Webber and Jay, Carl, Raymond, Clair, Herbert and Paul Hockenberry.
Funeral services will be held, Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Big Spring United Lutheran Church, 101 Crossroad School Rd., Newville, PA 17241 with Rev. Molly Haggerty officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
