Eva Elizabeth (Stevens) Cahill, 92, of Carlisle, PA, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, PA. Eva was born February 23, 1925 in Mercer, ME to the late Raymond and Inez (Hayden) Stevens. She is the widow of Brian Gerald Cahill.
Eva was a WWII veteran who served in the United States Navy as a Link Instrument Training Instructor. Eva received a B.S. degree in Education from S.U.N.Y. at Cortland NY. She achieved a provisional certificate in general education for pre-school through sixth grade. Prior to marriage Eva taught health and physical education. While raising her six children she periodically did substitute teaching for elementary school. Eva also arranged for and helped teach english as a second language for location families. She worked for the Diocese of Syracuse NY and served as president and finance director for the League of Women Voters in Homer, NY. Eva enjoyed being active in church and community work, traveling with her husband Brian and spending time with her children, grand children and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Terence Cahill of Homer, NY, Colin Cahill of Cortland, NY, Molly Bauer of Boiling Springs, PA, Maureen Cahill of Akron, OH and Tracey Vieser of Knoxville, TN; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Eva is preceded in death by her children, Michael, Brian and Patrick.
