Ethel McElwee

Ethel M. Martin McElwee, 86, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away on Sat., Sept. 2, 2017 in the Chapel Pointe nursing facility. Born April 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruby Murray Martin and was predeceased by her husband, Ernie McElwee, who died Feb. 19, 2009 and her son, Steven E. who passed away March 16, 2000.

An avid gardener, Ethel loved working in her yard. She retired as a secretary from the Sylvania Shoe Co. Ethel was a member of the former Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed attending the monthly "Holly Girls" luncheons.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie L. (Michael) Miller of Mt Holly Springs and Janel K. (Alan) Cline of Carlisle. In addition, Ethel is survived by her sisters, Trudy Donnelly and Barbara Lupfer, both of Carlisle; her grandchildren, Courtney Kann, Jacob Cline, Korin Hays and Stephanie Beinhaur; and five great grandchildren.
