Elmer M. Yeingst, 94, of Carlisle, passed from this life unto the church Triumphant on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 6, 1923 in Gardners, PA, and was the son of S. Paul and Bessie Mae (Trump) Yeingst.
Elmer was married to Doris L. (Zeigler) Yeingst for 67 years. He was retired from the Schweitzer Paper Company (Kimberly Clark) in Mount Holly Springs. Elmer was a World War II veteran serving with the 79 th Field Artillery Group. He was very active in his retirement and was proud to serve as a Board Member of the Mount Holly Springs Cemetery Association. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and a long term member of Grace (Carlisle) United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Doris, his son Dennis Yeingst and his wife, Susan, his granddaughter, Abigail (fiancé Jordan Souder) and his grandson, Logan. He is also survived by his sister, Alverta and his brother, Richard and his wife Donna. His late brothers were Lloyd (Dorothy) Herman and Sherman (Betty) Yeingst.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2 PM at Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jennifer McKenna officiating. Interment will be in Mount Holly Springs Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
