Edgar Young Sr.

Edgar J. Young Sr., 95,formerly of Boiling Springs, PA passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018. He was born April 29, 1923 in Hartford, CT to the late Ernest W. and Margaret E. (Gaudet) Young and was the widower of Jane E. Young who passed away May 2, 2018.

Edgar retired from the former PPG Industries as a shipping supervisor and was a member of the BPOE # 578 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #477, Carlisle. He was a United States Navy veteran during WWII.

Edgar is survived by a son, Edgar J. Young Jr. of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Jane E. Shelley of California, MD, Kathleen A. Stallsmith and Mary Beth Mazz, both of Mechanicsburg; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey W. Young and brother, Richard J. Young.

A graveside service will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Deacon Jack Paruso  officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
