Dorothy Stone

Dorothy J. Stone, 89, formerly of Plainfield, PA, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 in the Sarah Todd Memorial Home. Born June 8, 1927 in West Pennsboro Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Guy E. and Mary Miller Mentzer and was the widow of Robert L. Stone who passed away March 14, 1983.

Dorothy retired from the Carlisle Intermediate School where she worked in the cafeteria and was a member of the Plainfield Church of God. She enjoyed trips to the casino, her New York Yankees and putting puzzles together. Dorothy loved working at her son and daughter-in-law’s, “King’s Gap Store.”

Surviving are her sons, Robert L. (Debby) and Paul E. (Diana) Stone and grandsons, Duane and Nathan Stone, all of Carlisle. Dorothy was also blessed with two great grandsons, CJ and Elias. She was predeceased by ten siblings, and is survived by her brother Dick Mentzer, of Carlisle. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
