Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy A. Johnson, 87, died Thursday, May 30 2013 at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle, PA after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.  She was born November 28, 1925 to the late Raymond and Margaret Breece Millay in Columbus, Ohio and was predeceased by her husband Lester Johnson.

The family wishes to thank the staff and care givers at the Claremont Nursing Center and to the Grane Hospice for all the special care they gave to their mother until her death.

She is survived by three daughters, Lori Rooney and her husband Robert of Carlisle, PA, Janis Bauer of Genoa City, WI, and Carole Harris of Chicago, IL. Also surviving is her sister, Jane Downey of Columbus, Ohio, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, Raymond J. Millay Jr.

A celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Community Christian Fellowship Church 360 York Rd., Carlisle, PA with Pastor Sandy Adams Jr. officiating.  There will a visitation in the church following services.  The family request memorial contribution made to the Alzheimer’s Association 3544 N. Progress Ave., Ste. #205, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9638.  Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
