Doris S. Hockley, 88, formally of Gardners, PA, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 in her home in Carlisle, PA. Born February 24, 1931 in Mt. Holly Springs, PA to the late Charles I. and Flora A. (Emig) Bobb, she was the widow of William R. Hockley who passed away January 23, 2005 and was predeceased by her stepfather, Sgt. Adam Weidow.
Doris retired from the former Carlisle Garment Factory. She was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, the Ladies Auxiliary at the South Mountain VFW #7343 and at the Mt. Holly Springs American Legion #674.
Surviving is her daughter, Cindy R. Fitting of Mt. Holly Springs and four sons, James R. (Helen) Hockley of Gardners, William R. (JoAnn) Hockley, Jr. of Carlisle, Randy L. (Wendy) Hockley of Carlisle and John L. (Mary) Hockley of Lancaster. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving sibling of seven children.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Daniel Murray and Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.
