Donald "Pop" Warner, 74, of Boiling Springs, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 in Hershey Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1941 in Carlisle, PA to the late Lester and Dorothy Zimmerman Warner and was the widower of Barbara L. Rinehart Warner who passed away on September 3, 2013.
Don worked as a mechanical engineer and retired from Tyco. He was a member of the Churchtown Church of God, Sons of Legion #674, Mt. Holly Springs, and was a member of the Boiling Springs Alumni Association. Active with sports programs, Pop worked as a team helper and statistician. During the 60's and 70's, he was involved with the Cumberland Colts, a semi-pro football team, then for over 30 years he helped with Boiling Springs High School Sports and also supported Carlisle High School Sports for 10 years. He was fond of country music, was a car enthusiast and enjoyed collecting antiques.
Surviving Pop is his son, Rev. Brian D. (Kelly) Warner; and two grandchildren, Justis and Olivia Warner, all of Boiling Springs; his siblings, John and Michael Warner, both of Newville, and Rev. Dick Warner and Dorothy Warner, both of Carlisle. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanette Y. Warner, who passed away on February 1, 2015.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Allison Hall on the Dickinson College Campus, 99 Mooreland Ave., Carlisle, PA, 17013 with a reception to follow. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Churchtown Church of God, 351 Old Stonehouse Road South, Boiling Springs, PA 17007 with his son, Rev Brian D. Warner officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.
