Donald Smyers

Donald C. Smyers, 95, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in UPMC Pinnacle West Shore. He was born on December 16, 1923 to the late George and Laura (Myers) Smyers and was predeceased by his wife, Norma D.  (Shearer) Smyers, who passed away on December 26, 2011.

Traveling, especially to Indian River Inlet on the Delaware shore, country music and relaxing on the front porch were some of Donald's favorite pastimes. He was a member of Carlisle Lodge #260 F&AM and a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Harrisburg Consistory and was  a lifetime member of the Gettysburg Eagles Aerie #1562. Donald retired with 34 years of service as an electrician from C. H. Masland & Sons.

He is survived by his son, Jody A. Smyers of Mt. Holly Springs; a brother, Rodney Smyers (Esther) of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his sons, Dennis D. and Randy L. Smyers and his siblings, Doralyn Renolds, Helen Grove, and Harold, Kenneth and Richard Smyers.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Idaville United Brethren Church, 3590 Carlisle Rd., Gardners, PA 17324 with the Rev. Stuart  Johns officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Bendersville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
