Dolores Allen

Dolores Mae Allen, 82, of Carlisle, PA and formerly of Mt. Holly Springs passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in her home. She was born June 30, 1934 in Franklin County, PA to the late Lester B. and Mary Rebok Mowery.

She retired from Pennsylvania Dutch Candies as the store manager. Dolores also was a former employee of Kutz Harness Shop, Kmart and Walmart. She attended the Carlisle First Church of God and was a former Sunday school kindergarten teacher. Dolores was a former member of the Mt. Holly Springs Lions Club and the Business Association. Dolores and her husband were co-founders of the Holly Festival in Mt. Holly Springs.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Robert W. Allen of Carlisle; her son, Russell L. "Rusty" White and his wife, Tammy of Mechanicsburg; her daughter, Dolores K. Bingaman of Shippensburg; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; and a brother, Richard J. Mowery of Plainfield. She was preceded in death by a son, George R. "Bud" White Jr. who died in January of 2016; and two brothers, Robert L. and Marlin G. Mowery.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with the Rev. Edward Rosenberry officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
