Cynthia Wivell

Cynthia A. Wivell, 57, of Gardners, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 in her home. She was born March 21, 1957 in Lancaster to Richard and Shirley Ann Hawthorne Hoover of Elizabethtown, PA.

Cynthia graduated from Donegal High School, attended the Empire Beauty School and then owned and operated her own beauty salon. Later, she also worked as a bookkeeper for R & W Tractor and was employed by Cracker Barrel and Giant Foods / Ahold USA HQ. Cindy was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Her family always came first, who she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Wivell; her daughter, Norie A. (Jeremy) LeBarron of Muncy, PA; two sons, Chad E. (Courtney) Wivell of Dover, PA and Shane R. (Tiffany) Wivell of Gardners, PA; two brothers, Steven Hoover of Marietta, PA and Scott Hoover of Ephrata, PA and eleven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle, PA 17015 with the Rev. Daniel Dennis officiating. A visitation will follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice, 220 Wilson St., Suite 100, Carlisle, PA 17013, the Carlisle Cancer Center, 25 Sprint Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013 or her church.
