Curtis L. (Jack) Fahnestock, 91, a lifelong resident Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home surrounded by his children.  Curtis was born January 17, 1924 in Mt. Holly Springs, to the late Ellis and Maude Strohm Fahnestock. He was the fifth child of eleven.  Jack was the widower of his beloved devoted wife of 65 years, Evelyn M. Fahnestock, who passed away recently on April 30, 2015.

A US Army Air Force Veteran of WWII, he was stationed at the CBI Conflict and participated in the CCC Camps.

Jack retired from the McCoy Brothers Construction Company, was a former employee of Otto Hardware, serving as manager for 30 years and also worked at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. Joining in 1942, he was the oldest member of the Citizens Fire Co. # 1, serving as a fire truck driver from 1945 to 1975. An avid hunter and fisherman, Jack loved to go to his camp, Fahn-De-Mon, in Potter County. He was a member of the South Fairview First Church of God, a lifetime member of the VFW# 7343 and the American Legion# 674, and was a charter member of the Holly Fish and Game Club.   Jack enjoyed woodworking and restoration projects.

Jack is survived by his son, E. James Fahnestock of Mt. Holly Springs and three daughters, Gail E. (Larry) Freeland of Mechanicsburg, Luann S. (Bob) Brutko and Amy J. Fahnestock, both of Mt. Holly Springs. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Heath Freeland, Jill Evans, Danielle Keel, Sara Fahnestock, Jennifer Herman, Jessica Brutko, Allysa Mae Walker, Ezra Walker and Rayce Kalinich; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his sister, Phyllis Lowe of Souderton, PA and four brothers, Donald and Max of Mt. Holly Springs and David and Duane of Palmyra. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothee DeBolt and Bernice Cawley and three brothers, John, Theodore and Robert.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065, with Rev. Harry Madison officiating. Interment will be in the South Fairview First Church of God Cemetery with the Cumberland County Honor Guard providing Honors. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church at 1212 Centerville Rd., Newville, PA 17241 or to the Mt. Holly Springs Citizens Fire Co. #1, 100 Chestnut St., Mt.
