Colleen A. Black

Colleen A. Black, 87, of Boiling Springs, PA, passed away on December 10, 2023, in the Claremont Nursing Home, Carlisle. She was born September 13, 1936, in Carlisle to the late Paul David and Mary Geraldine (Weigle) Clark. She was the widow of Joseph Wesley Black, I, after 63 years of marriage.

She was a Boiling Springs High School Graduate, class of 1954, and went on to be a corrections officer at the Cumberland County Prison. Colleen later retired from the Cumberland County Sheriffs Department, where she was a Deputy in the Domestic Relations Department. She was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God and a donator to the sheriff’s association. Colleen enjoyed traveling to Ocean City Maryland, watching pro wrestling, bowling, and crocheting. She had a fond love for Cardinal Birds.

Colleen is survived by her loving children, Nancy J. (Tim) Snyder of Carlisle and Joseph W. (Deena) Black, II of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Shaun M. Stambaugh, Adrienne LeMasters, Joseph W. Black, III, and Rebekah L. Mitchell; great grandchildren, Bristol Stambaugh and Cooper Mitchell. Also surviving are her siblings, Paul “Brub” David Clark, Jr., (Nancy) of Carlisle and Nancy Lee Gibb of Carlisle.
