Cleo Spangler

Cleo May Whisler Spangler,93, of Carlisle, PA, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 13, 1923 to the late Clyde and Mae Koser  Whisler and was the widow of Herman E. Spangler  who passed away March 6, 2016.

Cleo was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Carlisle. She worked for Montgomery Ward department store  and retired from Wardecker's  Menswear  clothing store in Carlisle as a seamstress. She enjoyed going to antique shows with her husband and made it into a part time business.

She is survived by a son, Ronald (Susan) Burkholder of Carlisle; four grandchildren ,Troy (Tricia)Burkholder of Dillsburg, Rhonda Guyton of Warrensburg, MO, Brooke(Doug) Schaeffer of Camp Hill, and Sarah Burkholder of Carlisle; 5 great grandchildren ; and one great great granddaughter.  Also surviving  is her sister, Elva Neff  of Shippensburg.  Cleo was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Burkholder, who passed away January 11,2013

Funeral Services  will Be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt Holly Springs, PA 17065, with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery , Newburg. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
