Charlotte G. Rummel, 84, of South Middleton Twp. passed away Thursday September 11, 2014, in her home. She was born November 13, 1929 in Perryopolis, PA to the late Robert and Isabelle Wilkes Greaves. Charlotte was the widow of Robert T. Rummel who passed away on July 21, 1989. She lived the majority of her life in Pittsburgh, PA until recently moving to Carlisle, PA. Charlotte retired from Allegheny County in 1989. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh; active in the Republican Party and loved to volunteer for others.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter Deborah (late Stuart) Johnston of Boiling Springs; two sons; Dr. James (Linda) Rummel of Edinboro, PA, and Randal (Amy) Rummel of Canisteo, NY ; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers Jay Greaves of Wheeling, WV and Thomas Greaves of West Alexander, PA and sister Susan Wallace of Wheeling WV.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church (chapel), Pittsburgh, PA. There will be a time of visiting with her family at 12:00 PM. Her Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tammy Yeager officiating. Interment will be in the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburg, 5989 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
