Charles "Pete"L. Rollason Jr., 80, of Carlisle, PA passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1936 in Altoona, PA to the late Charles L. Sr. and Edna Ruth (Hiltner) Rollason.
Pete was a graduate of Altoona High School class of 1954. He earned his Bachelor's of Education from Penn State and Master's in Social Work from University of Pittsburgh. Pete was a US Naval Reserve veteran. He worked in Loysville and Pittsburgh with Youth Development Centers. He retired as Regional Director of Family, Children and Youth Commonwealth of PA. Pete was a member of St. Patrick Church where he formerly sang in the choir, and was also a member of the Carlisle BPOE #578. He was a Disney fanatic and an avid Steelers fan and the family would appreciate everyone dressing casually in black and gold for his services.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Helen (Anna) Rollason of Carlisle; four children, Mark R. Rollason and wife Jennifer of Dublin, Ireland, Karen L. Rollason and her husband Matthew Walters of South Riding, VA, Eric J. Rollason and his companion Michele Souder and Sean L. Rollason all of Carlisle. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; sister, Nancy Livermore and her husband Marvin of Altoona; brother, Gerald Rollason and his wife Rebecca of Big Pine Key, FL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the St. Patrick Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA with the Very Reverend William C. Forrey as celebrant. Viewing will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church, 152 E.
