Charles “Chuck” Dale Goodhart, 84 of Carlisle and formally of Mt. Holly Springs passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Sarah Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle. He was born April 12, 1930 in Carlisle to the late Clarence and Mary Piper Goodhart.
Chuck retired from the Naval Supply Depot as a systems analyst after 35 years service. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the Men’s Bible Class; Fifty plus year member St. John’s Lodge # 260 F&AM since 1957; and served in the Army. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Chuck dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Jane Cohill Goodhart of Carlisle; 2 sons, James (Karen) Goodhart and John (Joy) Goodhart both of Mechanicsburg; 3 grandchildren, Dominic (Lisa) Goodhart of Carlisle, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Goodhart of Harrisburg, Kaitlyn (Adam ) Musselman of Orrtanna; a brother, Lee (Judy) Goodhart of Carlisle; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December, 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm in Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA with Rev. Matthew Plant officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his church, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Building Fund, 420 Park Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013.
