Blanche I. Baker, 89, of Carlisle PA, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at her home. She was born in Harrisburg, PA on March 12, 1929 to the late John and Mary (Sauers) Wolfe. Blanche was the widow of Wilmer Jennings Baker, who passed away April 5, 2004.
She worked for the Bon-Ton, Carlisle as a cosmetology consultant and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. When her husband was alive, Blanche loved to travel, enjoyed watching movies and reading biographies and mysteries.
Surviving is her children, Gary Baker of Elliottsburg, David Baker of Harrisburg and Jay Baker of Carlisle; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers, John and Joseph Wolfe and great-grandson, Ebin Baker.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Action Center (Salvation Army, Carlisle), 20 E.
