Betty Wilson

Betty H. Wilson, 91, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, PA. She was born January 30, 1926 to the late John and Evelyn Walters Hess and was the widow of Mervin L. "Shorty" Wilson who passed away October 2, 1992.

Active in the community, Betty was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs UM Church and the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. She was the secretary of the Dolphin Ministry and chaplain for the Golden Age Club. She was a former employee of C.H. Masland & Son and the Carlisle Shoe Company.

She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Chiapusio of New Castle, and Yvonne Garman  and step-daughter, Connie Lee Wilson, both of Carlisle; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: John J. Hess of Lompoc, CA,  Nancy Finney of Harrisburg, Naomi Lamason, Joyce Mumper, and Jacqueline Black, all of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her sister, Iris L. Hess.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018  at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Holly Springs UM Church, 202 W. Butler St., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with the Rev. Lisa Klinger officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
