Barbara Jean (Yingling) Hoerner, 92, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, in the UPMC Carlisle Hospital. She was born October 1, 1931, in Fairview, IL, to the late Harry Clinton and Mattie Marie (Martin) Yingling and was the widow of James Benjamin Hoerner who passed away September of 1994.
Barbara was a graduate of Eisenhower High School class of 1950 in Hanover and retired from Genie Trucking where she was a bookkeeper. She also retired from her own business as a tax preparer and notary of the republic, where she served for over 25 years. She was a member and former treasurer of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Holly Springs and current member of Mt. Holly Springs Church of God. In her spare time, she loved spending time with grandchildren, sewing, cooking, and was an avid reader.
Surviving is her son, James “Jim” Edwin (Brigitte Mountz) Hoerner of Mt. Holly Springs; grandchildren, Katelyn (Bryan) Shields of Shippensburg, Benjamin W. Hoerner of Mt. Holly Springs, Alexander, Jourdain, and Lucus Mountz; great grandchildren, Zander, Emma, Hunter, and Carson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, 602 McLand Road, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Pastor Dan Murray and Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services and a luncheon will be held at church immediately following the services. Burial will be held privately at Springville Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
