Barbara M. Creskoff, 101, of Carlisle, PA and formerly of Newville and Upper Darby, PA passed away at her home on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Chloe Eppley Maxwell and the widow of Dr. Adolph J. Creskoff.
During her lifetime, Barbara worked as a medical technician and was an active volunteer in many capacities. A lover of impressionist art, she studied art appreciation at the Barnes Foundation, and also took courses in photography. Her interests included reading, knitting, golf, dogs and seashore vacations. She had a lifelong love of antiques and collectibles and was a vendor at many Philadelphia area shows. She was a longtime member of the former Riverview Presbyterian Church, now Christ’s Community Church in Drexel Hill, PA. Barbara was vibrant and engaging well past her 100th year, enjoying gardening, flea-marketing, computers, political discussions and keeping up with the NFL. Her family will ever remember her strength, kindness and well-rounded intelligence.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Anne C. Tomaski and her niece, Kathleen Maxwell, both of Carlisle, and nephews Robert G. Maxwell, Buffalo, NY and David H. Maxwell, Mechanicsburg. She was predeceased by her brothers, Wilmer B. and Harold A. Maxwell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Arlene Dunn officiating at the Big Spring Presbyterian Church, 25 S. Corporation St., Newville, PA 17241. Interment will be in the Big Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “The Dude Hates Cancer”, c/o Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 N. 20th St., 4th floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
