Arlene Smith

Arlene J. Smith, 82, formerly of Gardners, PA, died on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.  She was born on Dec. 2, 1930 in Gardners, PA to the late Harper and Sylvia D. Coulson Smith.
Arlene formerly attended the Mt. Victory United Methodist Church in Gardners.    She enjoyed watching television and reading her Bible and the Women’s World Magazine.
She is survived by a brother, Robert L. and wife Janet Smith of Gardners; two sisters, Erma L. and Lewis Elicker of Dillsburg and Maxine J. and Melvin Mellott of Gardners ; and many nieces and nephews.   Arlene was preceded by five brothers; John, Raymond, George, Ralph and Leroy Smith.  She was also preceded by seven sisters; Vesta McLaughlin, Esther Lines, Alice Gutshall, Helen Guise, Margaret Hoch, Mary Jane Marshall, Bertha Karathanasis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.  Officiating will be Chaplain Keith Searfoss of Grane Hospice.   Interment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs, PA.  There will be a viewing on Monday in the funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of services.  The family requests memorial contributions  be made to the Grane Hospice, 4 Lemoyne Dr., Lemoyne, PA 17043.
