Anthony K. Bielaszka, 92, of Monroe Township, Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Life Care Hospital. He was born January 28, 1922 in Newark, NJ to the late Kazimierz and Pauline Radon Bielaszka.
Anthony retired after 37 years of service from IBM. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, a Knight of Manresa, Staten Island, NY, and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Queenship Council # 4068, Camp Hill, and a lifetime member of the Mechanicsburg Club. Anthony also served with the U.S. Navy during WWII, aboard the USS Princeton.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie M. Johnson Bielaszka; two daughters, Patricia Tomes Vogelsong and husband Lester Jr., and Mary Tomes Gray, all of Mechanicsburg; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Anthony was preceded in death by his son, Steven Tomes and two sisters, Helen Dubiel and Frances Guzzo.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 8 from 10 to 10:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 400 East Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA with the Rev. David Hereshko, celebrant. Interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
