Anna M. Rhoades, age 77, of Carlisle PA passed away on November 27th, 2023, at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born July 26, 1946, in York, Pa to the late Irene Updegraff and Kenneth Shaffer. She was the widow of Dwayne Rhoades who passed away in 2018.
Ann is survived by her son Eric (Natalie) Rhoades, 4 stepchildren; Earl (Robbin) Rhoades, Ruth (David) Hurston, Joann (Jim) Beecher and Robert (Brenda) Rhoades, one sister Joyce Chadwell, 11 Grand Children, many Great Grand Children, and her dog, Zeke. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barb and brother, Lester.
Ann dedicated 30 years of her professional career in several roles at Dickinson College from where she eventually retired. Upon retirement she donated her time to several charitable organizations, most intimately working with the Bosler Memorial Library. The final years of her life were spent traveling with friends, enjoying the arts, and reconnecting with past acquaintances. Ann’s passion for the arts and traveling was second only to the love for her family, whom she spent as much time as possible with. She was a strong woman, a beloved Mother & Nana and will be missed by all.
