Amy Rebecca Vanasdalan, 55, of South Middleton Township, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her home. She was born December 11, 1966, in Carlisle, PA to the late Charles W. and Ruth M. (Koontz) Vanasdalan.
Amy graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1984, then proceeded to earn a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University in 1987. She will be remembered as a treasured coworker from her time as a manager at Wendy’s restaurant, to her time at Penske Logistics, through to her most recent employment as a transportation manager and operations manager at JB Hunt. Amy will also be remembered as a good friend; a confidant; a science fiction nerd; and a strong, independent, and loving mother.
She is survived by her daughter, Maya Brown, of Pittsburgh, PA; two sisters, Joan L. Vanasdalan of Gaithersburg, MD, and Sheri L. Hosterman, of Dillsburg, PA; a brother Charles W. Jr. of South Middleton Township; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Sue A. Deitch.
Memorial Services celebrating Amy’s life will be held on Saturday February 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt Holly Springs, PA 17065. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Furry Friends Network, P.O. Box 519, Boiling Springs, PA 17007 .
