Amanda J. House

Amanda J. House, 84, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, in the UPMC West Shore Hospital. She was born June 13, 1938, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to the late Lawrence and Louise (DePolo) Merrill.

Amanda worked as toll collector for the PA Turnpike with over 17 years of service.

Surviving are her children, Frederick House, Jr. (fiancée Heather Dolimpio), of Mechanicsburg, Desirae Ash (husband Clayton Ash) of Delaware; grandchildren, Laurissa Ash (husband Dalton Quigley) with baby boy on the way, and Brianna Smith (husband Josh Smith); and great grandchildren, Lincoln Smith and Arleigh Smith; and brothers, Denny (wife Harriet) and Harold Merrill (son Patrick Merrill). In addition to her parents, Amanda was preceded in death by her daughter, Scarlet O’Hara Wehry.
