Alvin D. Knaub, 81, of Penn Twp., Newville, PA passed away Sunday, May 26 at his home. He was born February 23, 1932 in Carlisle to the late Morris Knaub and Myrtle Miller Knaub and was the widower of the late Lucille Knaub who passed away in 1987. Alvin retired from PPG Trucking. He loved to feed the birds, ride his motorcycle across America, and enjoyed collecting Winross, Hess, Texaco and Gulf miniature trucks and other memorabilia.
Alvin is survived by his son, Dennis A. (Annette) Knaub of Boiling Springs and his six daughters; Yvonne(Clarence) Young of Carlisle, Sandra Swartz of Newport, Linda (Melvin) Coleman of Tavares, FL, Vickie (Gary) Russell of Newville, Deborah (Jerry) Swartz of Carlisle, Carol (Edward) Loeber of Dillsburg and his brother Ronald (Joyce) Knaub of Melburne, FL. He has 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30 at 11:00 AM in the Plainfield First Church of God, with the Rev. Kevin Dunlap officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
