Alphe Berube

Alphe R. Berube, 86, of Newville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home. He was born March 11, 1929 in New Brunswick, Canada to the late Leon and Lottie Ringutte Berube.

Alphe was a member of the Knights of Columbus in CT; Our Lady of Fatima in CT; and Carpenters’ Union #210 in Wallingford, CT.  He was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Alphe enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, especially gardening and also liked making woodcrafts.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores "Dee"  Martin Berube of Newville; daughter, Lise Smith (Marty Bechtold) of Carlisle; son, Steve Berube (Ann) of CT; three  grandchildren, Randi Tritch (Eric) of Harrisburg, Amanda Bechtold of MI, and Marty Bechtold of Carlisle; great granddaughter, Ava Potter of MI. Also surviving are siblings, Leon Tine Beaulieu, Laurette Sutton and Dorella Martin, all of Canada. Alphe was predeceased by a son, Gill Berube and siblings, Martaj Martin, Rollande Tibidoe, Aldeo Berube, and Robert Berube.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015 with the Reverend Donald Bender as celebrant. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the St. John Cemetery, Wallingford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church, 140 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA. 17013. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Mt.
