Alfred E. Maskrey III, 81, of Carlisle passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at his home. He was born in Irvington, NJ to the late Alfred E. and Louise (Thoenig) Maskrey II and was the widower of Susan E. (Oberdick) Maskrey who passed away August 30, 2004.
Alfred served in the Air Force and was stationed in the Azores as well as Sondrestrom AFB in Greenland. He studied engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to a long career in the high vacuum equipment industry acting in various sales, marketing and managerial roles.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and provided loving care for his wife Susan for many years. He enjoyed boating and fishing, playing chess, hosting get-togethers with friends and family, gardening and all the opportunities for plain old puttering that a satisfying retirement offered.
Alfred is survived by 2 sons, Alfred E. Maskrey IV of Lincoln Park, NJ and Eric M. Maskrey (and wife Patricia) of Carlisle; a daughter, Kristen E. (Maskrey) Eskelson (and husband Jeffrey) of Meeker, CO and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Sandra (Maskrey) Soetje .
Funeral Services will be at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA17065.
