Albert Richard (Dick) Jones, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on December 23, 2017 surrounded by family and his beloved pet and best friend “Boney”.

Dick was born September 12, 1931 at home on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, PA.  He was the son of the late Robert and Miriam Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helena (Wilson) Jones, with whom he resided, sons Dick Jr. (Juliet), William (Colleen) and daughter Patti (Skip) Powell.  Grandchildren Amy (Eric) Adams, Kelly (Bill) Moore, Megan Hartman (fiancé Adam), Stephanie and Sara Jones, great-grandchildren Charleigh and Cameron Adams and Tyler and Ryan Moore.  A sister Gladys Cashman and a brother Robert (Rachel) Jones Jr and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother Leon (Linda) Jones.

Dick was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, class of 1949.  He worked for US Gypsum and St. Joe Paper Company.  He was a member and past president of the Harrisburg Zembo Shrine.  He served in the Korean War with the Air National Guard.

Cremation was performed in Punta Gorda with arrangements by the Hollinger Funeral Home.  Interment will be at St. Luke’s Columbarium, Mechanicsburg, PA at the convenience of the family.  Dick, Dad, PopPop will be greatly missed by all.
