Delores Unger

Delores F. Unger, 79, of Carlisle, PA, passed away in the UPMC Carlisle Hospital on Friday, August 9, 2019. She was born on February, 17, 1940 to the late Norman E. and Catherine A. (Schmohl) Harbaugh and was the widow of Leroy Unger who passed away on January 23, 2005.

Delores was formerly from Orrtana and Mt. Holly Springs, PA and retired from Mt. St. Mary's College where she was employed in the food service department. Delores was a member of the South Mountain American Legion Post 674. Her pastimes included: listening to country music, playing poker and taking care of her vegetable garden.

Surviving are her children, Larry L. Knaub of Melbourne, FL, Lori J. Black (Sam Matzner) of Mt. Holly Springs, PA and Terri L. Hummel (Keith) of Carlisle, PA and her sister, Darlene Poole of Gettysburg, PA. In addition, she is survived by her stepchildren: Raymond, Terry, Thomas, Harold, Stanley, Betty and Janet Unger, and Linda Coole. Also surviving are four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Delores was predeceased by her siblings, Joyce Lombardo, Cathy Slyder and Norman E. Harbaugh, Jr. and her step sons, Steven and Dennis Unger.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Westminster Cemetery, 1159 Newville, Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013 with Sarah and Ron Mentzer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 3535, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA are handling the arrangements.
